Creative Voyagers

The Creative Voyagers program is centred around the creative arts, giving children the opportunity to enjoy arts, crafts, music and unstructured creative play. Early childhood is when creative abilities and talents are first discovered, and it is important that these abilities are nurtured. Developing a creative mind requires exposure to a wide range of activities and experiences, allowing children to organically discover what they most enjoy and excel at. Through participation in these learning opportunities, children develop new skills, problem solving abilities and ideas which will serve them well throughout their school years and beyond. Artistic expression is encouraged, along with peer discussion and input.

There is never a dull moment at Little Voyagers, with every day offering children a new opportunity to explore their creative side. We have an array of activities on offer including drawing and painting across various learning spaces, storytelling, sensory play using paint, imaginative play and a wide selection of blocks and Play-Doh. Children are given free rein to express their abilities, and workshops led by creative professionals are held to further develop skills and expose children to new ideas.

The following activities are used to support artistic growth, promote discussion and encourage individual expression and creativity:

  • Structured and Unstructured Imaginative Play
  • Painting on paper and canvas
  • Collages
  • Sensory play utilising different media
  • Play-Doh
  • Colouring In
  • Story-telling
  • Musical games
  • Singalongs
  • Playing a variety of sounds and music

Musically inclined children can also utilise a range of basic instruments located on-site such as recorders, drums and keyboards. Music is a fantastic creative outlet for children which can improve learning and provide a great sense of accomplishment, and we look forward to partnering with local music teachers to further expand opportunities in this space.

Through participation in creative learning experiences, children learn to embrace their individuality, discover who they are and uncover their natural talents. We believe that the best learning environment is a creative one. Creativity also helps in the development of literacy and numeracy skills, which is why Little Voyagers go above and beyond to ensure children have easy access to stationery, books, posters, labels and other materials to aid in their learning and express their creative talents.
